Laliga North America & Livelike Partner to Reinvent the Match Day Experience by Curating Watch Parties With Laliga Legends & Fans

NEW YORK – OCTOBER 14, 2020 – LaLiga North America and LiveLike today announced a new partnership that will bring an interactive fan experience to live events during the upcoming 2020-2021 season. Planned for key LaLiga match days starting with the first El Clasico on October 24th, a select group of fans will be invited to an exclusive watch party hosted by a LaLiga legend.

The experience, which is powered by LiveLike, will feature video Q&As with the LaLiga former players before and after each game, and at halftime; a live-synced chat room during the game to talk about the game with the player and other VIP attendees; and additional features that enhance the viewing experience, and bring fans together at a time during which they aren’t able to physically be together at stadiums, pubs or homes.

“We are always looking for new and innovative ways to engage with our fans and bring LaLiga, its clubs and players closer to them,” said LaLiga North America CEO Boris Gartner. “This partnership provides our fans a unique experience of watching LaLiga’s biggest matches with former LaLiga players and legends, and other fans who share the same passion for football.”

Added Miheer Walavalkar, CEO and co-founder of LiveLike, “LaLiga is creatively bringing VIP activations to big matches using our interactive technology, and we look forward to continuing to work with them – as well as other leagues, teams and brands looking to bring fans closer to the action through watch parties and other  premium experiences that we believe will continue to be long after the pandemic.”

LaLiga Legends participating in the watch parties include Diego Forlán, Fernando Morientes, Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Redondo and Kanouté, among others.  A total of five VIP events will be available during the season for selected participants.

LiveLike’s watch parties and other interactive features enable fans to interact around live events, and deliver unique engagement, retention and monetization opportunities for content owners and sports rights holders, leagues and teams.  LiveLike’s technology is easily integrated directly into its partners’ apps and websites, allowing them to create enhanced experiences for fans that are already using these platforms.  In addition to LaLiga, LiveLike is bringing this technology to sports partners such asTurner Sports (NBA Playoffs), Sky Sports (English Premier League) and FloSports, as well as to entertainment, news and other companies.
